Injection IML
High precision for rigid plastic packaging
Injection IML is the original technology from which the term In-Mould Labelling derives. A pre-printed and die-cut BOPP (Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene) film is placed inside the injection mould. The molten polypropylene (PP) injected into the mould bonds molecularly with the label because both belong to the same polymer family — the package and label form in a single cycle. The result: a single-piece product decorated with high print quality, with no peel, no tear, and no separation required for recycling.
Production Process
Offset printing followed by die-cutting to mould geometry and quality control. CMYK + Pantone colour matching.
Robotic feeder places the label inside the injection mould using electrostatic adhesion.
Molten PP (polypropylene) is injected into the mould; it fuses molecularly with the BOPP label of the same polymer family, forming product and label in a single cycle.
Cooled part is auto-ejected, visually inspected, dimensionally measured, and prepared for shipment.
Advantages
The label is integrated with the product — stays in place for the product's full lifecycle.
The label (BOPP film) and the package body (injection PP) belong to the same polypropylene family — mono-material stream, no separation needed, single-loop recycling.
Resistant to water, detergents, food acids, UV — readable for the product's full life.
Offset printing 8 colours + 1 Coater, UV Opaque White and UV combi +2 rollers, Pantone — photographic detail, vibrant colour and full opacity on transparent BOPP.
Four surfaces, four market segments
Glossy, Double-Sided, Transparent and Orange Peel — each built on a different BOPP substrate and tuned to a different market segment's aesthetic and functional needs.
BOPP Film Variants
Six different surface finishes selected per customer brief — the post-injection visual identity is shaped by this choice.
