From general printing services to IML film printing focus
Demirkardeşler Matbaa Etiket's market position has been shaped by three sequential strategic investment decisions: flexo labels (2000), offset carton (2008) and IML labels (2017). The 2017 IML investment marked the beginning of a transition in which flexo label and offset carton production were gradually phased out and the focus narrowed entirely to IML film printing. Production today is sustained solely on IML film printing; the milestones below trace how this focus took shape.
Founded in Gaziantep by Hasan Demir as a printing operation. His sons İsmet Demir and İlker Demir took over the business as the second generation, building on the conventional-printing heritage and shaping the infrastructure for the market-driven transformation that would unfold over the next four decades.
Three flexo printing machines marked entry into roll-label production. A significant capacity increase combined with high print quality positioned the company among the principal players in the regional roll-label market within a short time.
Entry into the carton packaging sector brought 4-colour offset printing, cutting and gluing lines into operation. Boutique capacity formed in inner-box production; the portfolio became dual-discipline (flexo + offset carton).
Marketing and sales activities in In-Mould Labelling (IML) technology were initiated in the last quarter. The sector's shift toward integrated plastic packaging was read early, and groundwork for in-house production began.
Machine investment in IML label production lines launched in-house production in the first quarter. This investment marked the start of a gradual phase-out of flexo label and offset carton production — the first step toward today's sole IML production focus.
Single-pass 8-colour printing + coating + LED UV is delivered on IML films in the 50–120 µm range. Modern offset printing lines form the backbone of the IML production line. Strategic goal: to become one of the top two IML film printers in Türkiye.
Past Disciplines and Today's Focus
Demirkardeşler Matbaa Etiket's market position evolved over time. The 2000 and 2008 investments laid sectoral foundations; since 2017, our production focus has shifted entirely to IML label technology. The first two disciplines below are historical; production today is sustained solely on IML film printing.
