Blow-moulding IML
Durable IML for blow-moulded products
Blow-moulding IML unifies blow-moulding and in-mould labelling within a single production cycle. A pre-printed BOPP label is fixed inside the mould; as molten HDPE or PP plastic is shaped by pressurised air, the label fuses to the outer surface at a molecular level. The result is a labelled bottle with no additional print layer or adhesive — high-durability packaging for milk + juice bottles, personal care products and industrial chemical containers.
Production Process
Offset print on BOPP film; precision die-cut to mould geometry with full quality control.
Robotic manipulator places the label onto the mould wall, fixed by vacuum or electrostatic charge. Front + back simultaneous positioning for dual-side application.
Extruded hot plastic tube (parison) enters the mould; pressurised air shapes the plastic against the label.
During cooling the plastic thermally bonds with the label; the product exits the mould as a single inseparable part — no downstream labelling station required.
Advantages
The label fuses into the bottle's outer layer — eliminating tear, peel and fade risk. Performs reliably under industrial handling and shelving conditions.
Long-life performance against detergents, motor oil, acid-base solutions and direct sunlight. Compatible with outdoor storage and shipping.
Label and bottle share the same polymer family — no separation step required, recycled in a single stream. Aligned with sustainability regulations.
Labelling completes in the same cycle as blowing — no separate adhesive, heating or labelling station. Lower unit cost, more compact line.
